Abstract
Of 44 intraoral salivary gland tumors seen over the last 20 yr, 21 (approximately 48%) were classified as carcinomas. Of these, adenocarcinomas constituted the largest group, but because some of them bore a certain likeness to adenoid cystic carcinomas and mucoepidermoid tumors, transitions are believed to exist between these neoplasm groups. The material is thought to reflect the daily practice of oral surgeons and general dental practitioners, and it is important to emphasize that approximately every 2nd tumor in this series was malignant. Keywords
