Abstract
Collection was sampled by analysis of the pollen residues of larval meconia. Bombus agrorum collected mainly red and white clover, Lotus corniculatus and Vicia; B. lucorum, white clover and Ericaceae; and B. hortorum, red clover. Detailed analysis of B. agrorum nests showed no seasonal trend in pollen collection, but pronounced differences in pollen composition between different groups of pupal cells and, to a lesser extent, between cells of the same group. Individual cells of B. agrorum contained a greater variety of predominant pollen types than those of B. lucorum or B. hortorum. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
