Lithium-Induced Reaction Yields Below 4 Mev

Thick-target yields of the following reactions were measured by counting the beta active products: ${\mathrm{Li}}^7({\mathrm{Li}}^6, 2n){\mathrm{C}}^{11}$, ${\mathrm{Be}}^9({\mathrm{Li}}^6, 2n){\mathrm{N}}^{13}$, ${\mathrm{C}}^{12}({\mathrm{Li}}^6, n){\mathrm{F}}^{17}$, ${\mathrm{C}}^{12}({\mathrm{Li}}^7, n){\mathrm{F}}^{18}$, ${\mathrm{N}}^{14}$(${\mathrm{Li}}^6$, ${\mathrm{He}}^5$)${\mathrm{O}}^{15}$, ${\mathrm{N}}^{14}({\mathrm{Li}}^6, d){\mathrm{F}}^{18}$, ${\mathrm{N}}^{14}({\mathrm{Li}}^7, t){\mathrm{F}}^{18}$, ${\mathrm{O}}^{16}({\mathrm{Li}}^6, n){\mathrm{Na}}^{21}$, ${\mathrm{O}}^{16}$(${\mathrm{Li}}^6$,${\mathrm{He}}^4$)${\mathrm{F}}^{18}$, ${\mathrm{F}}^{19}$(${\mathrm{Li}}^6$,${\mathrm{Li}}^5$)${\mathrm{F}}^{20}$, ${\mathrm{Na}}^{23}$(${\mathrm{Li}}^6$,${\mathrm{Li}}^5$)${\mathrm{Na}}^{24}$. The reactions ${\mathrm{F}}^{19}({\mathrm{Li}}^6, 2p){\mathrm{Ne}}^{23}$ and ${\mathrm{Na}}^{23}$(${\mathrm{Li}}^7$,${\mathrm{Li}}^6$)${\mathrm{Na}}^{24}$ had too small a yield to permit accurate measurement. All of the yield curves show a very rapid but smooth increase of yield with energy. Some general rules are given for estimating the yield to be expected for any positive "$Q$" lithium beam reaction in the energy range under consideration.
