1. The cruise in 1967, general report

Abstract
An invitation from Dr. Robert Mathewson, Director of the Lerner Marine Laboratory at Bimini, Bahamas, has given staff at the Biological Station of the University of Bergen an unexpected and highly appreciated possibility to take part in a comprehensive survey of the Bahamas, which was initiated in 1964 by the Lerner Marine Laboratory under contract ONR 552(07) with the United States Office of Naval Research. The conditions for participating are both generous and liberal and, though the topics to be studied have to be approved by the Committee for the “Survey of the Bahamas”, the participants are in reality allowed to work on problems of special interest to themselves, provided the results also contribute to an increase in our knowledge of the Bahamian marine fauna and flora.
