Abstract
The hydrometer method for particle size analysis in soils involves calculations of size of particle (d) settling in a suspension at a given time (t) from the hydrometer reading (R). A parabolic relation described by θ = m(a‐bR)1/2 exists between (θ) and R. A nomograph based on relationships between different parameters of the hydrometer method has been developed and its use is explained. Keywords
