Abstract
The prevalence of human T-lymphotropic retrovirus type-1 (HTLV-1) was surveyed in Mongolia. A total of 1100 blood samples from different ethnic groups of the Mongolian population were examined for the presence of antibodies to HTLV-1 by serological tests using particle agglutination and immunofluorescence. All sera tested proved negative and Mongolian populations are therefore considered to be free from HTLV-1 infection. Keywords
