Abstract
The mechanical fragility (MF) of dog red cells suspended in fresh autologous serum is variable unless the samples stand at room temperature for several hours. Washing the cells free of plasma and suspending them in isotonic saline prior to exposure to the standardized trauma of rotation with glass beads resulted in reproducible and physiologically significant values for MF.Keywords
