Abstract
We use measured nuclear magnetic moments together with some very general assumptions about nuclear wave functions to estimate the spin-dependent elastic cross sections of supersymmetric dark-matter particles on a variety of nuclei. Our cross sections are nearly always smaller than the corresponding single-particle estimates. In light nuclei with mirror partners, we make use of -decay values in addition to magnetic moments and obtain even more accurate results.
