Abstract
In this article, general relationships are established among variable structure control strategies and pulse-width modulated control schemes leading to sliding modes in non-linear systems. The results are applied to the design of a sliding regime for the regulation of DC-to-DC switchmode power converters exhibiting a slow integral manifold due to time-scale separation properties among input and output circuits. Keywords
