Abstract
Experimental and theoretical values of the transition thickness from a `plate' domain structure to a uniformly magnetized state are presented for thin uniaxial cobalt crystals of basal orientation. The transition region can be coexistent with a kind of subdivided or cross-tie domain wall which is found to be energetically favourable at a crystal thickness of about 260-280 Å.Keywords
