Abstract
To the Editor: We recently treated a 28-year-old victim of toothpick ingestion. We report the details of his case to reemphasize the need for adequate and immediate treatment in the event of such an ingestion.The patient presented to the emergency room at about 9 a.m., reporting 24 hours of fever, chills, and rectal bleeding, with pain in the right lower quadrant that radiated into his right buttock. He gave a history of being well, except for six months of intermittent pain of this kind. He had not sought care for this condition, having no medical insurance.In the emergency . . .Keywords
