Abstract
The present trends of cardiovascular research in Russia are critically reviewed with the perspective of ultimate closer contact and cooperation between Russian and American cardiologists. The main experimental effort in Russia has been devoted to central nervous regulation of cardiovascular functions, reflecting Pavlov''s concept of the dominating importance of the cerebral cortex in the control of the activity of all internal organs. Keywords
