Salinity and the Size of Urosalpinx cinerea Say

Abstract

U. cinerea was collected from 2 localities (Beaufort, No. Carolina, and Norfolk, Virginia) with different salinities but only slightly dissimilar temp. and their lengths measured. Results indicate that the animals grow to larger size in brackish than in saline waters. An attempt is made to explain the contradictory results in other forms.
