Abstract
The authors, using roller-tube technic, cultivated a transitional-cell carcinoma of the ureter. Mediums of known and unknown composition were employed. The rate of growth and morphologic architecture resembled closely those seen in the human being as suggested by duration of symptoms and histologic sections. Papillomatous proliferation was observed. Typical "tadpole" cells, as found in urinary sediments of patients having this type of tumor, were seen in the culture. The successful in vitro growth of this type of tumor in synthetic medium offers many possibilities for further study. Keywords
