Abstract
Measurements of the Knight shift of Al, P, Ga, Cd, and Sn in Cu base solid solutions, and of Cu, Ga, Cd, and Sn in Ag base solid solutions are reported. The change in solute Knight shift with composition and the dependence of linewidth on composition and external field strength are also discussed for selected alloys. The difference in the rate of change of relative Knight shift with composition for Sn and Ag in the Ag-Sn alloys indicates a tendency for the Sn atoms to avoid being nearest neighbors. Keywords
