Abstract
The neutron capture and inelastic scattering cross section of are calculated on the basis of the statistical theory of nuclear reactions in the energy region up to 1.1 Mev. To carry out the program, one uses experimental data from the resonance region including the radiation width and the level spacing of the compound nucleus. One also makes use of the measured fission and total cross sections in the energy range considered, the spectrum of excited states of the target, and an exponential level-density law for the compound states. The agreement with experiment is good.
