Abstract
The electrical conductivity and thermoelectric power of poly(p-phenylene vinylene) films have been studied as a function of heat-treatment temperatures (HTT’s) up to 2900 °C. The electrical transport is found to turn from a three-dimensional variable-range-hopping mechanism to metallic conduction by heat treatment above 800 °C. The electrical properties of the films with HTT’s higher than 2900 °C are shown to be those of well-graphitized carbon. Keywords
