Abstract
It could be demonstrated by the aid of special staining, polarization microscope, fluorescence and other methods that there are fibers which have no myelin whatsoever. The myelinated fibers have either a thick or a thin myelin sheath. The thickness of the non-myelinated fibers varies considerably. The thicker fibers show some peculiar arrangements in the Schwann nuclei. The relationship between myelin and the cells of Schwann is discussed.
