Variants Affecting Results of Red Cell Triiodothyronine Uptake Test

Abstract
The effects of variation of the concentration, temperature, and duration of washes in the red cell triiodothyronine uptake test of thyroid function are examined. A moderate sexual difference in elution rates has been observed which is probably an effect of the hematocrit factor alone. The test yields more fruitful information when the variables of concentration, temperature, and time in performing washes are rigidly controlled.
