Abstract
The contributions of separate and joint “escape” and “avoidance” contingencies were investigated for the bar-pressing response of rats in a schedule of negative reinforcement defined within the t-classification. In general, the removal of either contingency alone, or even of both contingencies at once, had very little effect on the two measures of response rate and of shocks per minute. Keywords
