Abstract
An analysis is made of the forms of address between 2 people. The data are drawn from plays, reports of conversation, and records of social interaction from a social psychological field station. The relationship of 3 forms of address (reciprocal first name, reciprocal title or last name, nonreciprocal exchange: first name by one, last name by another) to interpersonal status were investigated.
