367 muskrats were live trapped and ear-tagged with monel metal fingerling tags. These tags were satisfactory on all sized animals, even to those weighing no more than 4 ounces. The national live trap was the best because it was light wt., collapsible and caused no injuries to the muskrats. Apples, cantaloup and carrots were all suitable baits. A cone made from one inch galvanized-after poultry wire nailed on to a tapering board was used for holding the animals while they were ear-tagged, sexed and weighed. The traps and cone are illustrated.
