Abstract
Pemphigus vulgaris developed in a 23 yr old women during the 1st trimester of pregnancy. In the 33d wk she had a stillbirth of a female child who showed extensive skin lesions clinically suggestive of pemphigus. The application of direct immunofluorescence staining to skin tissue sections showed deposition of Ig[immunoglobulin]G in the intercellular spaces of the epidermis of mother and child. Transplacental passage of pemphigus antibody may have been responsible for the fetal skin lesions. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
