Abstract
The role of family resources in successful outcome of alcoholism treatment was investigated. Patients (56) were administered the Family Environment Scale. The scores of completers and non-completers were compared. Marital status alone was evidently not predictive of outcome, and self-reports of the family environment should not be accepted without qualification. The need for further research which looks at the role of needs and accommodation within the relationship is discussed. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
