Abstract
The radiation characteristics of an aperture‐coupled hemispherical dielectric resonator (DR) antenna excited at the broadside TE111mode is investigated both theoretically and experimentally. The Green's functions of the DR antenna are presented for the evaluation of fields in the upper‐half plane, and the stationary phase technique is used for the back‐lobe radiation. The effect of the slot length on the radiation is studied, and the cross‐polarized fields of the antenna are discussed. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.Keywords
