Abstract
A six-layered spherical lens with different sphere radii was theoretically constructed and practically developed for designing the Luneberg lens. The optimum dielectric variation function is obtained, from which the simpler new expression ε>j = (εj-1 εj+1)1/2 is also derived. The electric field in space is shown for the cases of N = 6, 30. Experimental verification is also made. Keywords
