Abstract
The concept of Stokes vectors and Stokes target operators is used to obtain optimum antenna polarizations for target discrimination in the presence of background clutter. The analysis involves a constrained maximization of the ratio of two bilinear forms, representing the signal-to-interference power ratio.Keywords
