Abstract
We have confirmed that cell-free extracts of radiation-induced leukemia in C57 Bl mice contain an agent (virus) which produces lymphoid leukemias when injected into isologous new-born or young adult non-irradiated mice. Therefore C57 Bl mice naturally harbour this virus and are not immune to it. This virus is inactive on AkR mice: it appears different from the Gross virus. From the discussion it is concluded that several processes cooperate in radio-leukemogenesis. Some may concern the concentration of the virus; some others the competent cells of the host. Keywords
