SCHISTOSOMIASIS OF THE SPINAL CORD

Abstract
Two cases of intramedullary schistosomiasis are reported, one proven and one assumed, representing the fourth and fifth such reports from this continent. The histologic lesion is one of granulomatous reaction and vasculitis, and the roentgenographic finding is that of an intramedullary mass on myelography. Transverse myelitis is the usual sequela and radiculitis is frequently a significant co-existing problem.
