Abstract
The i.v. injection of bacterial endotoxin into dogs was found to cause a rapid increase in plasma levels of infused α-aminoisobutyric acid. The findings suggest that nonmetabolic factors (tissue uptake, fluid shifts) influence amino acid distribution during endotoxemia. Keywords
