Abstract
Nonlinear internal gravity waves in an inviscid incompressible fluid are discussed for the case when the properties of the medium vary slowly on a scale determined by the local wave structure. A two-time-scale technique is used to obtain transport equations which describe the slowly varying modulations of the waves. Various solutions of these transport equations are discussed. Keywords
