Abstract
Young fasted [male] rats fed with Na acetate (0.2 gm.) showed in 4 hrs. no increase of liver glycogen as compared with controls. Young fasted [female] rats fed with glucose (0.1 gm.) and Na acetate (0.1, 0.2 gm.) showed a higher (about 50%) liver glycogen than controls fed with glucose alone; but this result was only seen in experimental series where glucose alone increased the liver glycogen considerably.
