Abstract
Lingual thyroid results from a developmental defect where the gland fails to descend to its normal position in the neck. Zenker's diverticulum is due to a congenital defect resulting in weakness of the posterior wall of the hypopharynx, leading to herniation of the mucosa. The first known case of lingual thyroid associated with Zenker's and vallecular diverticulum is reported and the world literature on lingual thyroid is reviewed. Keywords
