Abstract
The in vitro effect of the tissue conditioner Visco-gel, with or without the inclusion of nystatin and amphotericin B, upon Candida albicans, Candida krusei and Candida tropicalis, has been studied. Visco-gel alone was completely inert and would therefore not be used without nystatin in the treatment of a denture stomatitis where a yeast infection was present. Amphotericin B became completely ineffective when mixed with Visco-gel, but in control tests remained very active. Keywords
