Abstract
Visual observation for smaller bubbles using conventional microscopes with small numerical aperture by the Faraday effect becomes more difficult, due to decrease in bubble layer thickness, as long as conventional (YSmLuCa)3(FeGe)5 films with Faraday rotation coefficient φF of 760 °/cm are used. In order to solve this problem from the view point of materials research, (YSmLuCa)3(FeGe)5 as films with φF of −1500∼−2000 °/cm were grown. Employing this material, bubble domain visual observation is 2∼3 times improved. (YSmLuCa)3(FeGe)5O12 films have higher Q factors (3.6∼4.5) and higher mobility μW (330∼1080 cm/s Oe) than conventional (YSmLuCa)3(FeGe)5O12 films. Since the Sm3+ content necessary to obtain the same anisotropy energy Ku is smaller for (YSmLuCa)3(FeGe)5O12 than for (YSmLuCa)3(FeGe)5O12, a smaller damping parameter α is obtained for substituted materials. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
