Dilantin in the Treatment of Trigeminal Neuralgia

Abstract
In all of the 5 patients to whom Dilantin was given, definite relief of pain was obtained and the paroxysms of pain controlled. The effect of the drug appears to be symptomatic. It is felt that, in inhibiting repetitive discharge of afferent fibers of end organs, the drug may be directly reducing pain of peripheral nerve origin.
