Abstract
Seven loops are formed in prophase which give rise to 7 free bivalent ring pairs in diakinesis. The method of synapsis is described as acro-syndesis (telosynapsis), depending on affinity of the chromomeres lying at the extremities of the chromosomes. The question of para- vs. telosynapsis is discussed: the 2 methods of chromosome conjugation vary only in degree, not in kind. The nucleolus never attaches itself to the nuclear membrane, and certain irregularities are seen in its behavior. The reduction division of the chromosomes is normal and regular, and no non-disjunction of the chromosome pairs was observed. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
