Abstract
Morphology and morphogenesis of synnemata of C. ulmi were observed under a scanning electron microscope and a transmission electron microscope. Synnematal development in C. ulmi can be divided into 4 stages: synnema initial formation, stalk development, conidiophore formation and conidium production. Observations on each stage of development are described and illustrated.
