Abstract
Six of 6 equine herpesvirus type 3 (EHV3) isolates, 5 of which were epidemiologically unrelated, produced a mixture of small and large plaque variants in equine foetal kidney cells under methylcellulose. In 4 of 4 instances the cleavage site(s) generating the Bam HI A fragment of large plaque variants was distinct from the site(s) for the same fragment of small plaque variants. Keywords
