Craniofacial Distraction Osteogenesis

Abstract
A symposium on craniofacial distraction osteogenesis was held November 5 to 7,1998, in New York City. The course chairmen were Drs. Joseph McCarthy and Fernando Molina, and the director was Dr. Larry Hollier. The focus of the symposium was the most recent advances in techniques related to distraction of the craniofacial skeleton. Course faculty presented their experience with mandibular distraction, midface distraction, and orbital and zygomatic distraction. A free paper session was also held. This article summarizes the presentations and the symposia discussions.
