Abstract
Ethyl carbamate sensitive fractions of the cellular respiratory mechanism of embryos of the grasshopper, Melanoplus differentialis. seem essential for the stimulating action of 2,4-dinitrophenol. No antagonism seems to exist between the oxygen uptake stimulating action of 2,4-dinitrophenol and the inhibiting action of ethyl carbamate. Keywords
