Abstract
The types of 65 names of species in Massaria and allied genera are accounted for, with illustrations made from slides of type collections supplemented by habit sketches and notes made by the late Dr. L. E. Wehmeyer. The following new combinations are made: Asteromassaria pulchra (Harkness), A. seriata (Cooke), Dendropleella stipitata (Fuckel), Hymenopleella occulta (Romell), Massaria lantanae (Otth), Pyrenula bataanensis (Rehm), Splanchnonema ampullaceum ([Pers.] Fries), Trematosphaeria berberidicola (Otth), and T. epileuca (Berk. & Curt.). Discussion is given on the types of the names and on the generic concepts of the genera Aglaospora, Massaria, Pleomassaria, Saccothecium, Spilobolus, and Splanchnonema. Keywords
