Abstract
Muon absorption is investigated for nuclei with an excess of neutrons in order to answer the question: Are the studies carried out in previous works on nuclei valid for a larger class of nuclei with and possibly heavier? If so, to what extent? The present study indicates that the conventional shell-model techniques yield similar results for a more complex class of nuclei. Several selected nuclei are taken as examples; the nucleus is thoroughly studied.
