Abstract
A procedure for isolating HuIFN-β without the use of SDS or other denaturants has been developed. The procedure involves the chromatography of IFN on an antibody affinity column followed by reversed-phase HPLC. The specific activity of the resulting IFN-β is 4 × 108 u/mg protein, and overall recovery is about 76%. The procedure provides a method for isolating pure HuIFN-β in its native form with an efficiency much higher than any other method reported to date. Keywords
