Rapidly Advancing Pseudotumor Cerebri Associated With Morbid Obesity: An Indication for Gastric Exclusion

Abstract
Although most cases of pseudotumor cerebri spontaneously remit or respond to brief courses of medical management, a minority will be chronic or recurrent and may be associated with progressive visual impairment. We have described a morbidly obese patient with rapidly advancing pseudotumor cerebri who had a gastric exclusion procedure, which resulted in weight loss and stabilization of the visual deficit.
