Abstract
On the basis of correlated similarities in general morphology, non-Kranz leaf anatomy, δ13C values, and configuration of papillae on the palea apices, 6 endemic Hawaiian species are transferred fromPanicum toDichanthelium. These species,D. isachnoides, D. hillebrandianum, D. cynodon, D. koolauense, D. forbesii, andD. conjungens, comprise the subgenusTurjosa (Pilger) W. V. Brown ofDichanthelium as interpreted by the writers. Included is a key to the species and short descriptions of each with pertinent synonyms and citation of specimens examined. Keywords
