Abstract
This article reports a survey of graduates of the Speech Communication program at the University of Maryland—College Park. It identifies employment options in the field of communication; specifies competencies presupposed by these careers; and recommends internships, career‐oriented coursework and co‐curricular activities to increase the employability of speech communication majors in non‐teaching communication careers. Keywords
