Abstract
The total cross sections of light nuclei containing an integral number of alpha-particles was found by measuring the transmission of C, Mg, Si, S and Si samples for fast neutrons in the energy range 0.60 Mev to 1.90 Mev and in the energy range 2.5 Mev to 5.0 Mev. The cross sections have many resolved resonances, and the number of resonances per unit energy range increases rapidly with atomic number.
