Abstract
The effects of supplementary feed (chou moellier and red clover hay) on ingestion of soil by sheep and wear of incisor teeth were followed for 11 months on two farms with a history vf excessive wear. Supplementary feed was supplied for about 8 to 10 weeks over the winter period when pasture growth is low and animal appetite high. Peak soil intakes were reduced by up to 75 percent and tooth wear by over 50 percent at this period compared with controls. Over the whole year incisor teeth wear was reduced by about 50 percent. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
