BREATH HOLDING AS A TEST OF PHYSICAL ENDURANCE

Abstract
A group of 48 aviation students was used for this study. The breath holding times obtained with 5 different tests were correlated with the maximum treadmill running times and the Harvard step-up test scores. Since the coefficients of correlation thus obtained are statistically not significant, the breath holding ability cannot be used for prediction of either running endurance or Harvard step-up test score.
